Guidelines, Terms and Conditions

KEY DATES

  • Applications close  5pm Sunday 1st  September 2024

  • Delivery of work in person at Gaffa Gallery, 281 Clarence Street, is to be during business hours only in the week of Tuesday 1st October - Saturday 5th October.  

  • If you can’t deliver in person: Postal delivery must be received by Friday 27th September to
    Windowsmiths Gallery Shop 81/33 Bayswater Rd, Potts Point 2011

  • Pick up of unsold work is 22nd October - 25th October during Gaffa Gallery business hours ​

​ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. You must have a current JMGA NSW Inc. membership to be included in this exhibition. You can be a student, bronze, silver or gold member. We encourage both new and long term members to join us in this showcase of JMGA NSW Inc. members. There is no entry fee.

  2. JMGA NSW Inc reserves the right to omit work without prior warning. Reason will be given if requested.

  3. Work must not exceed 30cm x 30cm x 30cm.

  4. Only one piece of work per participant may be submitted. Series of up to three pieces will also be accepted, however these MUST be part of a series and fit within the 30x30x30cm space limit. (If the series does not fit in this space, items will be left out at JMGA-NSW's discretion).

  5. Entry forms must be completed in full and submitted by 5pm, Sunday 1st September 2024.

  6. Applicants must provide at least one image (up to three may be accepted) not exceeding 1 mb in total. All fields in the form regarding images must be completed before submitting.

  7. Late entries will not be included.

DELIVERY

  1. Delivery and return of all work must be at the expense of the artist. It is the artist's responsibility to ensure artworks are safely and securely packed for transit. JMGA NSW Inc accept no liability for works that are delivered damaged.

  2. If posting work, please send all postal deliveries to:
    Fiona Meller (0403 923 583), Windowsmiths Gallery, 81/33 Bayswater Rd Potts Point NSW 2011
    Please ensure enough time for the artwork to arrive by the deadline date of 5pm Friday 27th September as no late entries will be accepted.

  3. If delivering in person, deliveries can be made to:
    Gaffa Gallery, 281 Clarence St, Sydney CBD
    during their business hours between Tuesday 1st October and Saturday 5th October only.

  4. All artwork must be delivered ready for installation.

  5. Artwork must be clearly labelled with the artist's name and title.

RETURN OF WORK

  1. All artworks will be returned in their original packaging that they arrived in.

  2. Return freight is at the expense of the artist. Please ensure all posted items include prepaid return delivery satchels.

  3. Artists picking up their work in person need to pick up from Gaffa Gallery during their business hours from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th October. If artists can’t pick up work in person then return postage must be included when work is delivered.


ARTWORK

  1. Work must not exceed 30cm x 30cm x 30cm.

  2. Only one piece of work per participant may be submitted. Series of up to three pieces will also be accepted, however these MUST be part of a series and fit within the 30x30x30cm space limit. (If the series does not fit in this space, items will be left out at JMGA-NSW's discretion).

  3. Artwork must have been completed in the last 2 years. While we would prefer new work submissions, we are happy to exhibit members' work that has been exhibited previously.

  4. Display restrictions may apply due to the number of exhibitors.

 

GAFFA CRAFT WEEK EVENT

  1. During the exhibition, Gaffa Gallery will be holding a life drawing event that will include some work from the exhibition being worn by models. Work will be handled by Gaffa Gallery staff only and care will be taken to ensure the work is not damaged if permission is granted.

  2. If artists DO NOT tick the permission box on the entry form, then their work will NOT be used for this purpose.
     

SALES

  1. Artworks do not need to be available for sale.

  2. Artworks that are for sale, the price listed for sale must include 40% commission and GST (if applicable).

  3. Artwork not for sale must be clearly marked as NFS.

  4. Any work that is sold must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.

COPYRIGHT

  1. Copyright remains the property of the artist. The artist’s name will be acknowledged on any whole images used to promote the exhibition.

  2. The artists agree to the reproduction in whole or in part by print or electronic media for non-commercial purposes and promotion of the exhibition, including marketing and cataloguing.

  3. The artists gives JMGA NSW Inc permission to use supplied images for JMGA NSW Inc promotional purposes after the exhibition (including social media and our website) in whole with full artists credits. If you do not give permission then please contact JMGA NSW Inc.

INSURANCE

  1. All care will be taken with submitted works; however, neither the organisers (JMGA NSW Inc.) nor the exhibition venue (Gaffa Gallery) will be responsible for loss or damage to works during transit.

  2. Insurance of the work during transit is the responsibility of the artist.
